Today specialists are 100% dependent on the results of various lab tests, X-rays, E.C.G., Ultra Sound, CT Scan etc. With the help of these tests, the treatment of Consultant Physicians is more successful.

Due to growing demand there is an acute shortage of qualified and trained technicians. According to the latest survey, India has a shortage of 1 million Paramedics in India. With the demand and awareness, more hospitals/nursing homes are coming, especially in rural areas with attached laboratories, H-rays machines and other equipment. Govt. Institutions have few strengths of paramedical staff which cannot cater to even govt. hospitals, PHC's etc. To create awareness in the youth and growing demand in Govt. /Private sector Shivalik Institute of Paramedical Technology, Manimajra, Chandigarh has decided to start paramedical courses, especially for unemployed youth in the rural area and especially for poor and disabled persons.

SIPT (Shivalik Institute of Paramedical Technology) situated in the footstep of beautiful Shivalik hills,2.5km from Chandigarh Railway station and 0.5 km from Kalagram(Famous Landmark on Chandigarh-Shimla Highway), Manimajra on the Chandigarh Shimla - Kalka - Highway. Shivalik Institute of Paramedical Technology, Manimajra, Chandigarh is recognised by Central, and Several State governments, Government Undertakings, Establishments and various prestigious Universities like Punjab Technical University Jalandhar, National Institute of Medical Sciences University Jaipur recognised by Joint Action Committee of U.G.C., AICTE, D.E.B. and H.R.D. Ministry (Govt. of India). Madhav University Mount Abu Rajasthan NCVTE ( National Centre for vocational and technical education INDIA) is also recognised under S.R. Act. Shivalik Institute does not need any separate state approval according to Letter No. F23-1/2003-TS. III by the Human Resources Development Ministry, Govt. of India that all courses are valid for Govt. jobs.

 

After the line of NCBTE( national centre for vocational and technical education, India), also recognised by Shri Venkateshwara University as an industrial partner for vocational courses. Also recognised under the S.R. act.

 

About B.Voc. Programme

Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) is a three-year undergraduate degree course available in several fields for students who have completed their 12th standard or equivalent.

 

The University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), in 2013, introduced the Bachelor of Vocation, commonly known as B.Voc degree programme with multiple entries and exit points, which can be understood as after completing one year if the student opts for the exit, he/she is awarded a diploma certificate.

 

Similarly, there are other exit points from where the students can take an advanced diploma or a full-fledged B.Voc degree. The focus of this programme is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of practical aspects to handle the complexities of tasks in the real work environment. B.Voc. courses are considered to be a new generation training programme which emphasises industry practices and is carefully designed in consultation with industries/employers with an objective to make students industry-ready.

 

UGC-B.VOC Scheme

The University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) has launched a scheme on skills development based on higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF. The B.Voc. programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies, which would also incorporate specific job roles and their N.O.S.s along with broad-based general education.

 

This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge. NSQF has adopted a holistic approach in designing the credit framework, primarily promoting lateral and vertical mobility. Beauty lies in a pre-defined entry and multiple exit points. It is an effort to bridge the gap between certificate and Diploma levels and between Diploma and Degree levels by allowing for mobility from one to the other.

 

It also provides an opportunity for Diploma holders to pursue graduation in vocational education and graduates to pursue post-graduation further using the previously earned credits. Overall this credit system helps improve the employability of our certificate, Diploma and Degree holders and provides a framework for lifelong learning through flexible credit transfers and Community College institutions, within the framework of higher education institutions.

 

UGC-B.VOC Scheme

• To provide a judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
• To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills so that they work ready at each exit point of the programme.
• To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
• To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance the employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industries are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
• To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.
